I’ll admit, to share with you all our inspirational experience at the Quindaro Ruins and help market the symposium, Alt Spec’s blog went live a little earlier than planned. As a result, I didn’t get a chance to properly introduce myself or the blog. Allow me to check those boxes now.
My name is Earnest and I’m the head story teller, or in common business terms, Founder and Chief Pilot at Alt Spec. I have been an aviation enthusiast for as long as I can remember. I started flying remote controlled airplanes and helicopters when I was 10 years old. Little did I know, I would make a living using the hand-eye coordination I developed then. After graduating from college with a mechanical engineering degree and landing a job that afforded me the opportunity, I earned my private pilot’s license. That license would open more opportunity than just having fun and traveling. When the FAA released the Section 333 ruling I was working at an engineering firm ripe with relationships and projects to explore incorporating UAS (Unmanned Aerial Systems). With my years of experience operating UAS, an engineering background and a pilot’s license (then a requirement to fly UAS commercially), it was an easy decision to start growing this service offering. Fast forward to today, I decided life had presented good timing to for me to do this on my own. So here I am, leveraging drones to tell stories!
I plan to use this blog to “pull back the curtains” of my company’s UAS operation by sharing experiences and interesting content. My ultimate goal is to connect with people who share an interest in UAS, adventure or business. I hope that you find a piece of information, entertainment or a chuckle during your visit to our blog.
